October Politeness

It is easy to see what politeness does for other people. It keeps them from being rude to you. But it also keeps you from being rude to them. The more you have of it, the less often you will be put in situations where you need to defend yourself by attacking someone else.

You will be liked better, which will make other people want to help you more. At the same time, your temper will improve because it is hard to remain angry or fearful when people are friendly to you.

Politeness may be shallow for some, but it is a way of signaling that you are not a threat. It doesn't cost anything, but its benefits are enormous.
