A gentleman is not defined by the content of his wallet or the cut of his suit. He is defined by his manners and the content of his character.
Being a gentleman in today’s world can be tricky and might lead to some misunderstandings from the opposite gender.
Here is a list of 12 guidelines on what to do and NOT to do while taking your chosen one on a date.
Gentlemen, take notes and you will thank us later. Ladies, you are welcome.
1.Take the initiative in organising the first date. Few things are less attractive than asking: “So, what do you fancy doing?”
2.Timing is very important. Always keep to time when honoring a date, event, etc. When you show up late, it says so much about your personality and the kind of regard you show to important things.
3. As a gentleman, always open doors and allow ladies to enter first. And if you have a reserved table, the man should locate it and lead his companion there.
4. Even if you can see instantly that a blind date is a blind alley, stick around for a couple of drinks at least. It won’t kill you, and they might be feeling the same.
5.Offer to pay on the first date.If you requested the pleasure of their company, then you should pay.
6. Message the day after a date, if not sooner. Even a disastrous one.
7. Use a recent, representative profile photo on dating apps. That snap from five years ago when you still had hair and hadn’t discovered Deliveroo yet doesn’t count.😝
8.Offer your date the seat with the best view. Or whichever seat she/he wants for that matter.
9.Put your phone away.
10.If you’re in a restaurant, treat the staff respectfully. Being rude to waiters and waitresses, even bad ones, is a dead giveaway. Your date will notice, and so will everyone else.
11.Don’t leave more than a day between messages if you want the correspondence to continue.
12.Never break up with your partner or announce a death incidence via text; some informations are best conveyed face to face or via a phone call.
